The Kondrashin is a terrific cycle IMHO and has been my go to in Shostakovich and, although good, I was not overly impressed with the Barshai cycle but that may be a bit unfair when comparing it to the Kondrashin set. It will be interesting to see how I get on with the Kitajenko cycle; I come to it with an open mind [ear!].

I have the Barshai set. I will get the Kondrashin cycle some day.
