Hi Claus, looks very nice and must work well with the Hiface. Both can be ordered with BNC connections which are reputed to be better sounding and also make the fitting of the attenuators easy. You'll still have money over for a transport.

This is the Young DAC from M2tech. It uses the same asynch USB setup as the other Hiface products, EVO, etc.

Claus, I would love to pitch my modified Hiface with built-in DAC against it (I'm pretty confident of the outcome but who knows). Why not order one for home trial & I will be happy to visit you with the MK2 Hiface DAC, set it up, have a listen & leave it with you until you decide!

Here's one that should give the MK2 Hiface a run for it's money [urlhttp://www.audiophilleo.com/audiophilleo2.aspx[/url]

About the same price as above ($895 or $495) but it's not a DAC, it's a USB to SPIF converter - same as the Hiface.

Audiolincs referred me to www.emporiumhifi.com who has a LECTOR-CDP-7TL for 1750 sterling....

Thanks for your very kind offer John. Do you have a link with details of your dac? I was very impressed with your Hiface in Fran's system ;)

Sorry, Claus, it's a new offering but it's the same DAC as the one you heard on the way out the door through the headphones - this one was running off an SD card device. It's fully 24/192KHz (not upsampled), 112dB signal to noise ratio. Will run most headphones directly (as you heard in Fran's). What else do you need to know?

I didn't realise that the Young Dac had the Hiface capability , of course had I read the spec...................

Sounds like a tempting offer from JK,

M2Tech Young Dac ordered. This will sort me out in a number of ways and still leaves option of connecting a transport. I am afraid I will need a Dac anyway even if I go with a dedicated player. This would be interesting to compare against John's offering and if I like his better, the Young will go back to England ;) I will keep you posted!
