Good stuff Matt. Funny how stuff can change like that - I heard similar stuff here.

Wow! I didn't realise how much was kicking around the place! Apologies about the poor images, don't know what happened. they looked ok on the camera!

Outside in - PMC FB1, Meridian M2, Meridian A500, Gale 401. Ruark Sabres on top of A500's,

From top, Naim NAC112, CD5, Stageline MC, Flatcap & NAP150

Arcam C200 Control Unit - switchable cartridge loading, very handy!

Very old Naim 250 (Serial no. 2074) Snaps and Snac 12N

Everything gets switched around occasionally, the C200 only used as a headphone amp. When you list it all it's a lot more than I thought there was!

Nice ATC's Matt. They look like they can go very loud indeed! Are they active speakers?

Thanks Dave.

Yes they can go pretty loud. They are active. The amp pack on the rear tri-amplifies them with 200w for the bass, 100w for the mid and 50watts for the tweeter.

They are only being driven from the output of the Arcam cd33 via a Tc level pilot http://www.tcelectronic.com/levelpilot.asp passive volume control, so when i get the ATC pre amp it should be a massive improvement. They are already the best ive heard, so im in for a treat i think.

Hi Fran

How do you find your cd transport compares to other commercially available units?

Cheers
Matt

I don't know the ATC's, but I'm a fan of active speakers. My Arcam CD33 feeding the 561 and driving the M2's and active 2500 sub knocks spots off any other combination I can put together. Good luck and many happy hours of listening to them!

Hi Matt,

I'm very happy with it - I think it would stand up very well against some very high end transports. But then I would say that!

Ask Derek - he has the same as me and can maybe give a more unbiased opinion.
