I've heard this a few times in the shop, been very impressed, and on one of those occasions my wife decided she wanted one. This can only be a good sign.

I have also heard this in the shop Adrian and I too have been impressed, given its size.

On a recent trip to Cloney's.... i had the pleasure to be introduced to a relatively new speaker made by Russel Kauffman of Russel K & Co.

Two stand mount speakers on offer .... The Russel K Red 50... and Red 100.

Definitively worth a listen if you are in the market, or even if you are just passing by.

The website has the nice touch of being able to select the veneer and the speaker picture changes colour, in addition you can select the picture of the speaker with grills on or off. I think the Walnut looks really good!

I heard the smaller ones there recently and thought they were superb. Really enjoyed listening to them.

I see Cloney are doing one of their Sunday gatherings on June 7th and these speakers are featured. Designer will be there too.

Everybody has their dream job, for some it’s to be airline pilots others a professional footballer or even a pop star, however for most of us it remains a dream.

Since I was a teenager I have been fascinated by loudspeakers and the sounds they reproduce. My entire career has been in the Hi-Fi Industry working for Wharfedale, Monitor Audio, Bowers &Wilkins and Morel watching my dream go unfulfilled. Finally almost without warning my opportunity came to have my own Speaker Company and Russell K was born.

To wait so long has meant that I wanted my company to be special, I have taken everything learned from the various companies I worked for together with my own ideas to create loudspeakers worth seeking out to listen to, and to own. The Russell K mission statement is simply to design and manufacture loudspeaker systems that sound like the real thing, at prices people can pay. In essence a violin should sound like a violin, drums like drums not only in tonal colour but also in vitality alive just like the real thing.

Having known Cloney Audio for many years I can honestly say that I am living the dream to have them represent Russell K in the Republic of Ireland. The upcoming event promises to be a lot of fun and I urge all to bring much music to play and questions to ask

Only had a brief listen a few weeks ago. Thought they were bright but that could have been down to the source/amplification. As I`m allergic to bright systems I didn`t spend more than a couple of minutes listening. I could be completely wrong of course, despite having never been wrong about anything in my life so far up to this point :-).

Couldn't possibly accuse you of being wrong, but maybe freak atmospheric conditions on the day hampered the vibration of the air molecules in such a way as to make the speakers seem bright to the trained and experienced ear?

I thought they were highly non-bright when I heard them (the smaller ones) and they were all about the attractive midrange. I, however, am regularly wrong, so you wouldn't want to listen to me... ;)

It actually may have been the tunes. As most of you are aware almost every recording made in the last 20 years have been shrill and bright to begin with then murdered at the mastering stage for good measure! Great for detail freaks. Painful for music lovers :-)
