Yeah - but I wanted to say it to John first before moving them (just didn't get to that yet).

All of these things can be done - and easily enough - but I'm wary of so many specific separate fora:

People will only look at 1 sub forum only, stifling cross-interests.
Fora with fewer posts become zombified
"knock knock, hello, am I the only one in here"
Things that might reasonably be in two fora end up in one or other

And so on.

The long and short of it is that I'd the members want it, I'll do it, but I need a mandate.

I have to say, I'd be a vote against excessive splitting. And I wouldn't even put dac-related stuff in a Computer Audio forum if the choice were up to me...

That said, I can see the merit of both sides. I always use "View unread posts" to browse the forums, so in a way it doesn't matter to me where the threads are, I'll see them all anyway.

In order to give the false impression that I'm logical I'd prefer if all hifi units had their own threads but it was a general consensus when we started that it would a broad thread for everything. I too use "View unread posts" so I just see everything new. If I could trust the search facility there'd be no issue at all!

Thanks Fran. Works for me.
TBH the computer audio threads, while obviously very popular, don't float my boat.
I'm really looking forward to the day when that seemingly superior repro method is a simpler solution.
I did read some of the CA posts and obviously theres a lot to look forward to.
