lekt, have u updated to 1709 yet ??

yes, updated to 1709 build 16299.19 , sound not correct, seems empty and emotion lesser.
updated again to next build 16299.64 (current build of win10 now), better, more stable. but now my headphones Sennheiser MX400 don't work , i use MX170 but bass is false, MX581 sound not true. difficult to test sound, hm... need repair old MX400, i love its sound, usefull for testing.

uploaded v3.76 spl

builded this version with base code using standard wasapi and windows api functions, it can work for all windows and wasapi ver. in feature coz no tricks (no need run lektmod.exe).
try test with new win10, i suspect new windows sound. almost all wasapi objects no changed but function AvSetMmThreadCharacteristics now work not good as in previous win10, sound is cold, i feel muscal emotion lesser. think MMCSS and Thread Priority not in high level. need test more.

3.76 spl is not bad. bass is good. cold like you said. (but overall sound in win10 is slightly colder too)

i think the new win10 has more softness, can make more bass and more vibration and more details more easily.

3.76 spl needs more pressure

updated objects pointers for new dll and recompiled, code no changed. don't forget run lektmode.exe v2.0 before usage this, JC.

my win10 build is current last windows update build 16299.64, think your is 16299.19, but it can work for you.
im watting for maintaining of headphones cords. can't test with new headphones, favourite is only one, hehe...
not simple improve SQ now in new win10, so much assembly code, need more profesional skill for assembly programming. will try soon.

v3.75 16299.64 plays on 256 buffer frame size. By theory need as lesser as possible.

you can try and compare SQ. in my case v3.75 64 is best.

I think i prefer buffer = 256... More details here
64 buffer makes sound very timely but the sound is too sharp and crispy here

retested, seems buffer256 more warm, more musical emotion. will learn the parameters for function NtDeviceIoControlFile and test more..

here with my machine, sound/bass is thinner with smaller buffer.
but with smaller buffer, timing is more and more accurate. 3.75 64 has almost perfect timing!
music has most ease with 3.75 64.

btw, after playing music for a while, the sound sometimes get distorted with noises with all new versions
sometimes its ok....
need fix this bug

just notice that ever since updated windows to 1709, my dell laptop sounds no good anymore using 16bit 44100....
Restore to default.... 24 48000
(even using 24 44100 isn't sounding too good)

now my win10 is 100% using default settings

Changed my mind, i prefer 3.75 64 now...
It is technically more capable!
