It's never far from the CD player since I got it. Even when wandering around I'm singing "Stuff that works", "Desperados waitin' on a train" or "Home grown Tomatoes".

Johnny's voice sounds stunning on the old valves. I remember myself and a friend went down to Belfast one day. When I spotted the Cash album in Dr. Robert's I told my friend to buy it having read good reports on it. Later that night I got a phone call to tell me he hated the album and would I take it off his hands!! It was duly delivered the very next day. It was my first JC album and I friggin' loved it and played it to death. Needless to say it was the start of a love affair with his music......Thank you my friend! Glad you're still happy with the AI :)

I've loved every era of Johnny cash. When I was a teenager I spent much of the summer holidays with my older cousins in Westmeath who were big into their C&W. I'd sit in their cars for hours at night listening to Johnny, Charlie Pride and Ray Lynam (I love Ray!) and then help them jump start their cars in the morning cos I'd run the battery down!

When listening to cash sing "Danny Boy" earlier I had tears running down my face. That's what music can do.

Brilliant tale of a misspent youth :) And indeed that is exactly what music can do.....
