no

8.1 has the least crap. most minimalist
I wasn't clear in my post. secpol.msc is I believe what's required to change Local Security Policy - the option to change this does not show up in admin tools and I've searched for secpol.msc.
Without the ability to change the Local Security Policy I can't run AVX versions of MQn (if this is the problem). :-(

use of any policy will usually decrease SQ.
try this instead
save below as reg file
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system]
"EnableLUA"=dword:00000000
Run it. restart machine
SQ should get better also.

The avx-32 bit "mqnplay.exe 32 bit R1.1 512 win8.1-r2"
That's the only one that was released for 32-bit containers.
I'm still hoping for a 32-bit version of avx 100000, the best of them all.
Cheers

I wasn't sure did you use the R1.1 512 or you went back to 2.71.
BTW, I had no idea that the R1.1 512 is avx version!
For HiRez I'm still using 2.71 Time1. I find more natural than R1.1 512.

The R1.1 512 is not an avx version.
But my favourite for 44/16 is the avx 100000 and I wish that would become available as a 32-bit version.
Maybe I should listen to the older ones again as well.
It's been a long time since I listened to the 2.71 and likes.

Hi Aleg,
That's explain why R1.1 512 does not sound like avx! :)))
To me the R1.1 512 sound like using the Equilizer in the "V" position!
Is is just the two of as who needs 32 bit version?!!! Anybody else?
Best,
Adam

dont understand why we are were we are
2.71's were good, evenly good
2.73 448 rb was really good
avx 100000 was fantastic but i find a little flat sometimes still a fav
avx 2.2-2.6 was good too
sse2 2.37 had great detail and fabulous bass
avx only has 16 44 and 24 96 for 24 in 32 bit

If that one goes to the Archive I think I may be going with it....
Too hard now to try and be analytical when listening to 2.37 as I just kept being drawn into the music, amazing!
Can't agree with the positive feeling about 2.37 in my case I find it extremely flat sounding. All spaciousness and air and acoustic space has been squeezed out.
The absolute best IMHO is the 2.31 hires, 2.37 is not even close or to be considered a contender at all. Strong words, but in my setup it is way back.
Still hoping for a 32-bit version of 2.31 hires
Cheers
Aleg
Did you ever get 2.37 working with Control 100000 Aleg?
Interested to hear if you hear anything like I heard so many pages back!
Do not forget me in that list Adam for the 32 bit versions, don't get the feeling we will see them any time soon but we can only hope:-))
