This is a wonderful CD; the music is both lovely and intriguing and the variety of textures and sounds from the multiplicity of original instruments is both magical and very well balanced.

After listening to
a string :P of Mendellsohn Quartets -- numbers 1 and 2 to be exact -- I put on the first cd from this Abbado/CSO set
