These SSE4 2.2s are extraordinary alright, amazing sound for me using MQNLoad and MQNControl.exe 24 bit avx2 v1 1000000.

Off to try the avx versions now!

If this is the end of the production line then no complaints from me, maybe we have as far as possible.....

Both avx 2.20 and avx 1.20 give crackling sound.

The previous avx 2.16 does not.

Cheers

avx 2.20 working here and sounding excellent, these new files today sound different to me (in a good way) so I expect a few days listening to various music is in order to get acquainted with them.

For those struggling with some of these versions all I can say is do not give up as there are strange happenings with how they load sometimes which I can not get a handle on yet.
I have several individual folders on my OS drive where I store different MQN Control & MQN Play files, each with its own MQNLoad and codecs folder.
I have named them in accordance with what I like about various releases of MQN, "Best" HiRez" etc.

Often when I switch to a different folder to initiate a different version of MQN using the MQNLoad file in that folder I find that the MQN in that folder will not work though it may have worked yesterday or last week.
Not working can be anything from MQNLoad will no load anything even when hitting Alt Spacebar, MQN opens and loads a file but no music or MQN opens up and then quickly disappears.

Of late to get around this what I do is go to a different MQN folder and copy a different music file and try to play from there...sometimes works and sometimes does not.

Another way that has worked is to delete the MQNPlay.exe in a folder which MQNLoad has created and then Alt + Space to reload an MQNPlay file again...sometimes works and sometimes does not.

Once I get another version of MQN running from another folder I then go back to the folder where I started and try again...sometimes works and sometimes does not.

Once I have a working folder it tends to stay working as long as I do not change to another MQN folder or recently if some new versions need a different MQNControl.

There is definitely something strange that happens in windows with version changes that is not so black and white as it will work or not so worth persevering sometimes....though it can be frustrating!!!!

Someone will hopefully figure this out someday.

uploaded mqncontrol 10ms R1.1, gives the sound a bit of a lift, couldn't believe it when I heard it first time.

playing it on my laptop speakers creates lots of crackle, don't know why, are the instructions not completing on time, and yet it works ok via the cuinas and I'm sure I've used these instructions with other versions (they were probably 23ms though instead of 10ms)

Thank god for Pearse's post! I can't get the 2.20avx playing and know it is the control file but any one I have tried aint working.
Sometimes I find I have just opened too many mqn folders and shut it all down and then the existing working ones are fine.
One more go tonight with the latest control file loaded by Gordon

BTW 2.20 is excellent but R2.3 is working fine for me as well. Surely it is getting close to what is feasibly possible with this stuff? Functionality and hires for these versions is all that is required. Then take a break and have a holiday figuring out KS!

Maybe I should give more detail but 2.20 plays Massive Attack, Oscar Peterson,Radiohead and Neil Young etc and provides clear deep bass on all.
Tonality is for me the best I have ever had and noise floor is non existent(of course unless there is a hiss in recordings)
Detail is really there, deep not fatiguing. So happy camper

yes.

You're going to be saying "turn that thing down" when you hear it (to quote J Hendrix)

Any chance of the full path for that? Think of Adam and getting dizzy and confused!
