how about
WinReducer 8.1 - v1.00 - RC2

no support for win2012. shame.

updated tweak 41
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2456&p=50634#p50634

probably my final setting:

DEP: disabled
SEHOP: disabled (ALREADY DISABLED in win7)
ASLR: disabled or enabled (i use 'disabled' has more air in win2012)
PInning: disabled //default is disabled

on win7 ASLR only applies to 32bits applications. on win8 and later, ASLR applies to everything.
on XP, there was none of these memory protection craps.

remember to uninstall EMET after you done. it has agent running in background will damage SQ.

----TWEAK2 CONTINUE CONTINUE----
shan wrote:Tried you NTFS tweaks

only:
"NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate"=dword:00000001
is done right ,sound more relax,stable, that means the micro details have better focus.

Others are bad tweaks,sound is worse.
took out one bad tweak each day. yes shan is right. i finally end up with

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\FileSystem]
"SymlinkLocalToRemoteEvaluation"=dword:00000001
"SymlinkLocalToLocalEvaluation"=dword:00000001
"NtfsDisableCompression"=dword:00000000
"DisableDeleteNotification"=dword:00000000
CAN MAKE SOUND WORSE IF SQ IS ALREADY MUDDY. FIX JITTER FIRST AND APPLY THIS ONE "FilterSupportedFeaturesMode"=dword:00000001
"NtfsDisableEncryption"=dword:00000000
"SymlinkRemoteToRemoteEvaluation"=dword:00000000
"NtfsAllowExtendedCharacter8dot3Rename"=dword:00000001
"NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation"=dword:00000000
NO NEED FOR R2 "NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate"=dword:00000001
"SymlinkRemoteToLocalEvaluation"=dword:00000000
"NtfsQuotaNotifyRate"=dword:00000e10
"NtfsMftZoneReservation"=dword:00000000
"Win31FileSystem"=dword:00000000
"Win95TruncatedExtensions"=dword:00000001
"NtfsEncryptPagingFile"=dword:00000000
"NtfsDisableVolsnapHints"=dword:00000000
"NtfsMemoryUsage"=dword:00000000
"NtfsBugcheckOnCorrupt"=dword:00000000
"ScrubMode"=dword:00000001
"UdfsSoftwareDefectManagement"=dword:00000000
"UdfsCloseSessionOnEject"=dword:00000003
"DontVerifyRandomDrivers"=dword:00000000
"MaximumTunnelEntries"=-

-this will cancel previous mistakes and applies the goodies.
-notice FilterSupportedFeaturesMode doesn't exist in win7. i am disabling it for win8/2012

-CANNOT CHANGE THESE:
NtfsDisableCompression, NtfsDisableEncryption, MaximumTunnelEntries make incorrect sound.
NtfsAllowExtendedCharacter8dot3Rename, NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation, DontVerifyRandomDrivers make sound strained.

It MIGHT work with R2 but more trouble than it is worth to find out.

The nLite guy says he is working on a version for 8.1.

Sure would be neat if he does if just to find there is any advantage to minimizing Server. nLite is very easy to use. Nothing wrong with something being easy to use!

Could well be it won't make any difference at all to minimize but best to find out for sure.

JC, do you know if there are any disadvantages to our purpose by installing SERVER and never connecting to the internet?

The number of days left does not show up.

Thought you might know if there is something we might need that is unavailable when one installs this way.

Does anyone know?

it will show up eventually hehe...

you could legally re-arm for 3 more months of use.

you could activate 2012 standard edition by using a loader. look for Windows Loader v2.2.1 by developer 'Daz' in mydigitallife website. no virus. safe. educational use.

'Daz' hasn't made a loader for R2 yet. so... use 2012. it is the same thing. R2/8.1 is just more metro more craps.

shall be updating the service tweak:
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2456&p=48859&hilit ... ces#p48859

1. made several mistakes. basically, if disable a service makes SQ bad in win7, then will also be bad in win8.
pkshan done it totally correct:
http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_72b3301c0100ph6t.html
i already un-disable a few services.
2. only a few services introduced in win8/2012 can be disabled
3. disabled, enabled, automatic, manual all sound different.
going to see for those services i deleted should be put on manual will sound better. those deleted services are the same services deleted in pkshan's win7.

jc what about doing this to understand what fidelizer does

"he author of this is likely someone who does app development for Wxx and knows about before/after Registry changes. Tweaks for audio, W7, W8 are also on this site.

Using a tiny program like regshot.exe one can see the state of the Registry before and after and compare and get a list of changes.

Fidelizer makes up to 600 entries in Extremist mode.

Reviewing the sound aspect, it works as advertised. Sound improves, less hash on cymbals and upper ranges, cleaner all around."
