i think we shall keep this last build which can get by current windows update now.
JC, 3.54 256 10586 builded when my ntdll.dll ver. is 10586.103, can't play in OS with last WU. do you update to last build 10586.122 ? try do this.

3.54.1 10586.122 give good vocal, only bass a bit hard.
i prefer softness/bass of old v3.52 256, sound colour very nice. of course it have tricks in render loop. currently versions still not, only outside of render loop, will make this soon.
v3.50 256 qword plays piano with specialy nuances, tempo. still can't beat it.

To clarify: I stopped using ws2016 TP4 10586.0 not because it cant play, but because same build Win10 had better SQ.

ok... windows update again. now WORKING!

uninstall some useless apps(e.g. money, sport), and then disk cleanup... bass is softened for 3.54.1 10586.122

3.54.3 256 gs30 new favorite here

with correct tweaking and this version, the bass is almost soft enough to vibrate off the over-hardness, almost there...

good news that's last versions work for you, JC. also prefer 3.54.3 256 gs30 vocal although it's clarity a bit not enough, but i feel analog sound. will try XA, but what version better? pls. tell me.
i disbaled WU service and sure that really disabled. sometimes have seen it running, hehe.. and does updating. be care full this action.

seems ws2016 initialize user proccess not the same way as win10, building stack and other resource also not the same, there's cmd.exe does this. will remove all revelant tricks, keep only code optimization and upload for your testing later. 3.54.3 256 gs30 works in your win10?

xa's vocal is insane... been away for a 2 months... digital audio is on another level

sorry lekt, this new version (XA-S1D) xa's vocal weight is best i heard on digital audio... but instruments and bass and tempo are ok... can be better

slightly hard makes sound thinner than norm. so clarity lesser little?!
