Mahler – Symphony No. 9 ....



This was a wonderful performance with ravishing playing in the final movement.
The additional two portraits were also a most enjoyable listen.

Sibelius – Tone Poems: Rakastava & En Saga....



Rakastava was beautifully played and was quite lyrical and evocative.

This one had been on my wish list for some time Fergus after reading an online reviewer summed up the performance as: "Their sound is sonorous;their emotional investment high and correct; their balance perfection and the diction is flawless!". I certainly couldnt argue with that after I had finished listening to it. Much to my delight this morning I came across this recording while browsing through my LPs so no need for the the CD purchase now. :-) I really ought to catalogue the lot!

I am not surprised at all with that response Dave. Byrd wrote some lovely sacred music and the Tallis Scolars' sound is second to none.
I know that time will be an issue here Dave but I certainly would invest the time in catalouging such a collection if it was mine!
