This was a wonderful performance with ravishing playing in the final movement.
The additional two portraits were also a most enjoyable listen.
I would be curious about that one Dave.DaveF wrote:
This one had been on my wish list for some time Fergus after reading an online reviewer summed up the performance as: "Their sound is sonorous;their emotional investment high and correct; their balance perfection and the diction is flawless!". I certainly couldnt argue with that after I had finished listening to it. Much to my delight this morning I came across this recording while browsing through my LPs so no need for the the CD purchase now. :-) I really ought to catalogue the lot!fergus wrote:I would be curious about that one Dave.DaveF wrote:
I am not surprised at all with that response Dave. Byrd wrote some lovely sacred music and the Tallis Scolars' sound is second to none.DaveF wrote:This one had been on my wish list for some time Fergus after reading an online reviewer summed up the performance as: "Their sound is sonorous;their emotional investment high and correct; their balance perfection and the diction is flawless!".
