uploaded 24 bit 512 sse2 intrinsic R1.0 versions for win 7 and 8.1/r2, use with control 512. Think it sets a new standard for MQn, at least.

Thanks Gordon, answered my question perfectly! mqnplay.exe 24 bit 512 sse2 intrinsic R1.0 win7 + mqncontrol.exe 24 bit R1.0 512 win8.1-r2 not only works on my Win 7 build, but sounds mighty fine.

Nevermind - doesn't seem to work with my DAC, unfortunately, although it (like some other MQn versions) I can get working with my Realtek onboard sound...

So back to mqnplay.exe 2.71 intel v2 it is, the best sounding and latest version that works with my DAC and OS. The decay just sounds the most correct, and the sound the most balanced/analog.

100000>1.5 448 @ 448/various clockrates
most of magic is gone
but still something in 448

maybe get other frequencies working on 100000 and move to ks
sd card player, modded soekris dac, class a lifepo4 amp or gb class a/b amp, diy open baffle speakers based on project audio mundorf trio 10's

mqnplay.exe 24 bit 512 sse2 intrinsic R1.2 win 8.1-r2 pgo => crackling sound.
mqnplay.exe 24 bit 512 sse2 intrinsic R2.0 win 8.1-r2 => works!

I think this might be the best version so far.

All versions are measured against the 100000 and none make it IMHO.
Why not continue from 100000 instead of trying to find other approaches that sound as good as 10000?

Or at least release a 24-bit and a 32-bit version of 100000, so there is a complete set from the 100000.

Cheers

Hi

I'm struggling to play anything but 24bit 96 KHz Wav files on my dCS Debussy Dac that wants everything in 24 bit containers.

I have an i5 CPU - which version of MQNplay and MQNcontrol should I download to play 16bit wavs on my DAC?

I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit.

I am a bit confused by all the versions / combinations so really would appreciate some advice if anyone has an idea.

Many thanks
Clive
