I just make a file called clockrate448.reg which contains:

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile\Tasks\Pro Audio]
"Clock Rate"=dword:000001c0
and run it immediately after the appearence of the mqncontrol window.

cheers

mqnplay.exe 24 bit R1.1 512 win8.1-r2

Plays without a hitch

More 3 dimensional sound

Bass is enhanced compared to R1.0 , this much improves the overall listening pleasure in my system . This combo is my new reference.

Crackling occurs on R1.5 448 , and I haven't yet found a solution.
I thought R1.1 had a strange effect on the sound, have you tried 2.5 or 3.5 ?

suppose the best thing would be to parameterise everything and then you could really go to town testing for the best settings.

Hmmm, I have been using this all evening yesterday to switch to and fro different clockrates and compare the effects.

What version are you testing this with and does that version give sound without this registry update?
If you have no sound to begin with, I doubt this change of setting will give you sound.

I'll check again tonight, I'm now doing this from memory from the office.

Cheers

Do you see the value change in the registry editor when running this .reg file?

reg file works perfect

only get sound using it if i let the sound come before i execute the reg file

the crackling at the beginning of tracks is more annoying atm
but both will need to be fixed

without the crackling and at the forced clockrate on 16 44 the 448 is better than 512
even at this clockrate a glimmer of magic shines through

dont mind testing various clockrates but i do still need to benchmark

I am confused what you are trying to accomplish here? Control programs change clock-rate automatically, plus you can do it manually in regedit.

It changes automatically to 11610, but they prefer 448.
You will have to change manually every time you start MQn.
