I already have the Sofia concert and I can't listen to it with all the audience noise.

I have just had a quick listen to this [on the computer] and it is quite good sound wise [it's in mono by the way]. I will listen properly in the next few days ..

By the way it's available new for £1.50 + postage .. [plus parcelmotel charges]

LOL!!! You must be a child of the Digital Age James.
Just out of curiosity would you normally listen to mono recordings?

Hi Fergus,

The only other mono CD that I can think of is Glenn Gould and his first version of the Goldberg Variations.

I have LP's but I hate clicks etc .. [Currently my record-deck is in storage]. I am not a fan of live recordings
[except for pop].

Cheers for that James. I hate to hear of TTs locked away!!! But, if you don't fancy some surface noise you are obviously better off in the digital world. The most important thing is to enjoy the music!

Well these two arrived today. I spent half an hour listening to L'Italiana in Algeri and it is very easy on the ear, the sound of the VPO is just gorgeous. Unfortunately I had to leave my room though as it is too damn hot, it's nearly 30c in my chair.

Well, I have a daughter in the house so I have to preserve a modicum of decorum, but seriously though it's really oppressive in my room so I'll have to wait for a couple of hours before going back in. Ah well! Paddy gets a few warm days every nine years or so and then has the audacity to moan about it! :)

^^ no, I can appreciate your predicament, Sean.

I've just been reading an article on world debt..

apparently, Ireland has the largest Gross private sector foreign owned debt as % of GDP in the world... 900%.. Malta are 2nd with 481%, then Singapore 465%, then Britain are 4th with 364% of GDP... man, I thought we were in a tight corner!!
