Happy Birthday Seán....I hope that you uncorked and enjoyed a nice red!
I do not know the Kremer interpretation of the Four Seasons so I will be interested in any comments in due course.

what a JOLLY good idea, Fergus! I really couldn't down a bottle on my own and I'm sure that'd go down a treat! June 12th Tosca in my lounge, 6.30pm. Are you up for it?fergus wrote:Let it be known that you are hold the Harveys in reserve for one of your Opera nights....you may have a full house!!!

I wish that I could attend Jared....some day perhaps.
I only drink sherry at Christmas and always a pale sherry so I would not be much help with the Bristol Cream even if I did get there this time LOL!!!

Thanks Fergus, I will report back, initial impressions of the Vivaldi are favourable and the Haydn is delicious.fergus wrote:Seán wrote:A birthday present:

Cheers Seán. Kremer, LSO and Abbado are obviously all big names but that does not necessarily always mean automatic success particularly in this kind of music so I look forward to your comments.

Re: Recent Purchases
I tend to agree, Fergus. I see you're listening to Pergolesi at the moment... as you know, for his 300th anniversary tribute a couple of years ago, Abbado used his 'Orchestra Mozart' to fine effect. Kremer is a superb violinist, but of late he has made his name with 20th Century music, so like you, that combination on Sean's Vivaldi also intrigues me.fergus wrote:Cheers Seán.
