ok only got as far as r1.4 which was the pick of them
not excited by new clockrate and reverted to 448
still lacking the flow/musicality and reverberation of 2.73 448 rb and 100000
otherwise superb detail

Yes Gordon I see you frequent Wigwam every now and then. I think if you read the posts prior and after Pearse's little wind up one can see that a very large thick high brick wall is build instantly by the protectors of the faith or Fat controller or whatever you want to call them. The lad who wrote the brilliant praise on MQn is personable and met him at Scalford without realising he had written words like that previously but he is entitled to his opinion and to be fair it seems honestly held and with none of the usual bull and bluster.
Thanks Aleg food to think about. Maybe if some of the earlier good versions were just packaged as tasters for first timers or ones that universally or more or less universally work.Maybe that is the easiest.
My thinking is around anybody who shows curiosity it would be nice to just dropbox them or point them to an easy single point to download a set of files that work. That might hook them in if they can try it easily and find it works for them.
Anyway I am great for these ideas but very poor on follow through. I forgot we are Irish we need a committee

Now you are using Windows' native USB audio driver you are limited to 96 kHz.
The 'only' reason that proprietary drivers exist for Windows is to get support above 96kHz because Microsoft refuses the upgrade their drivers to support higher than 96 kHz.
So either you install the Naim driver again to get 192kHz and above or you stick to Windows USB driver and be limited to 96kHz.
Cheers
Aleg
I can set windows native driver up to 24/192, and even test the sound from windows. Naim driver expands it to 24/384.
I can play 24/192 by Jriver through that driver no problem, even by mqn, but it would crackle.
Cvrle59
Are you sure the 192/24 is with the native Windows driver? Because that has always been the main stumbling block with Windows own USB-audio drivers and I know of no change in that area.
Is there anything above 96 in the second tab of the sound card properties under Supported Formats / Sample Rates?
Cheers
Aleg
Positive....They might've changed it. I just checked in Jriver, what driver is set, and I tried again 24/192, works. As I said, even mqn would start, but it cuts off or crackles, how we would say.
Thanks for point out to it!

uploaded a 1.5 448 play/control
I still think 1.5 512 is best.

More I listen 100000, more I enjoy any kind of music, or any kind of recording, good or bad, and more I'm thinking, it can't be better than this. I just love it!

Aleg, they're your nightly orders to go with the nightly release, lol
don't think it's a version you can play.

Both R1.5 would just crackle on my system. I didn't try R1.4, but I could play R1.3
Tried only 16/24.
