Good God! I well remember going down those steps quickly myself but I had just got married there (not falling...running). It sounds like a nasty fall. Position the bed in the sweet spot and make the most of it. My prayers wouldn't do you any good Dermot, in fact they might just bring a plague of locusts to your house. Get well soon.

Jaysus. Sorry to hear that. Good luck with it.

And count yourself luck that your quadricep was just above the knee! Where it's supposed to be. :)

You're so right Gerry! Then again I could have broken my back, hip, neck, head, arm etc etc. What amazes me is the fact that my back is perfect despite having endless trouble with it over the years! Marie quipped that I probably realigned it when I hit the ground LOL

I'll give you a laugh; when I went for the MRI (my first!) I was made aware not to move etc etc. and I got headed with a massive pair of white headphones. I was expecting ambient chill out stuff. What did I get? An interview with the author of a new book on Depression in Sport! I could handle that, no problem. But what came next completely floored me! Imagine the very worst radio jingle possible and multiply it by 10Db!!!!! I ended up nearly epileptic as I frantically tried to prise the headphones off before major damage was done to my poor ears! Naturally that completely scuppered the scan :) I was lectured severely on my actions but at least I got my request to have the blasted radio switched off. What followed was a beautiful, calm hum filled with clicking noises. In fact, just like a lot of the weird stuff I listen to ;) I was in heaven and the second scan went smoothly without a hitch....Incidentally the scan only showed up a partial tear of the quad. tendons and the surgeon team were debating whether to operate or not. Luckily for me they went ahead because when they had a look on the op. table they found a complete rupture!!!!! Whew :)
