Yes, that is a lovely recording Jared; it has been lingering in my attic with a few other LPs for quite some time....there is a thread around here somewhere about my relatively recent archaeological escapades and my return to the world of vinyl after many years.

Spooky... so that's why you find scratches on LPs that you know weren't there before, or the CD falls on the floor when you open the case because of a shattered rosette in a heretofore pristine box! I suspect the string quartet records: they're so touchy when they get passed over for something showy like a big baroque choral work!

LOL - violence and intimidation on the CD shelf!!! I will bear that in mind next time and will offer protection as well!!

Beethoven – String Quartets Op. 18 1-6....

The music making is much more intense and focused than the Alban Berg Quartet; it is simply in another league! There is also great “presence” on the recordings. Op. 18 No. 4 really stood out for me.
