The R1.1 512 might be too heavy on the bass, but it's a nice clean bass. I believe that is too strong on high bass notes. I had to lower the volume on my subs.

Overall I like it better than 100000, but like Nige said, in some tracks feels funny!! Sometime I get the feeling that the music is coming from the tunnel in front of me. The airness is quite different and I like better in 100000.

yea. after a while, start to hear issues with 100000.
vibration/texture is little dirty.
affinity change strains the sound a little, which cleans the sound a bit, also make sound thinner also airy. helps timing, but artificially.
if no affinity change, sound mellows out. but sound gets more dirty.
negative negative makes a positive. not natural...

Holly Cole's Temptation - "#4 Temptation" is one of the tracks I always use to test any system I tried so far, including all MQn versions. 100000 is the first version, including all CD players I ever heard, to discover all deep layers of different sounds originally recorded. I could close my eyes and track every of them separately. I always though it is little muddy from recording studio and I lived with that impression for long time, until I heard it with this magic version. I switched to R1.1 512 last night, and the fist thing I played was that song. R1.1 mashed it the way I used to hear it. The second thing I played with R1.1 was one of the 24/96 albums I have, but the excitement just wasn't there. I quickly went back to 100000 to have some fun for the rest of the night. Not saying it is perfect, but close to it, IMO.
Cheers!

briefly listened to
R1.1 512, also R1.0 512
they seem to have similar bass issues like 100000.

try not change affinity. affinity trick does make sound feel airy. but by stretching it thin.
i guess this is why mqn is either
treble=thin+airy
treble=rich+not airy

this happens in a lot of versions.

try old mqn.exe. treble=rich+airy. just perfect. they didn't have to change affinity.
in fact, tried affinity tricks on many software players. pretty much same result.

I don't think that all those tweaks effect my system as much as you describe it. It could be just nature of the DAC I use (USB).

ok gave it another blast
100000 vs r1.1 512
512 has more definition too much?
512 has errors in reverberation and micro micro details eg. a triangle should "ping" and slowly decay to end
not stop before its finished nor mute itself mid note

more foot tapping in 100000

r1.1 448??

"more foot tapping in 100000"
You can't measure certain things, but this explains the feelings!
