Yes, it was DG. I don´t remember when he signed an exclusive contract for orchestral recordings with them, but it must have been in the early 80´s. Even his last opera recording with EMI dates from 1983.fergus wrote:Jose Echenique wrote:

I have had it on repeat play all weekend and I just had to put it on again this evening.
HvK gets this magnificent orchestra to plays like gods. The Rondo-Finale is a wonderful evocation of joy and triumph, it never fails to lift my spirits as it rises and rises and soars to a glorious climax. Bravo Herbert and thank you.
