I'm not a great man for clicking youtube links but had a go at the last few posted.

Om does sound sonically very interesting, might go on a wishlist to bump up an order to free postage.

Grubbs et al did not immediately appeal to me at all.

No Disco, Dineen was my era, new baby in the house, watching videos of it giving the night shift feed, fond memories on many levels.

Thanks for the feedback :) Grubbs solo is more accessable than Gastr if that's any help....but once hooked......

One of the few albums I've 4 copies of on 3 formats, this one is a reissue on Amercan Beat Records from 2007 on CD.

one of my Top 100 for sure.

Would you believe I was listening to the above last night in the early hours! What do you think of TNT, especially the production? Mine sounds just fine now with my current system but when I had the Croft Series 6 (110 watter), the bass completely engulfed the room making it virtually unlistenable at reasonable volumes I might add :)

Playing TNT now! Two of my all time best live concerts in very opposite circumstances: Roskilde Festival in a half empty tent on an afternoon. And Christiania in Copenhagen in a tiny cafe venue jammed with a "smoking" crowd of attentive listeners. Both occasions Tortoise played as if their lives depended on it.

Inspired by this, I will give this one a spin later:

Hadn't listened to Tortoise in a while, amazing how you forget how good some bands are.
TNT's a great album but as you've said about the bass, very heavy and powerful. My BAT amp loves bass so there is no problem controlling the bass in my listening room
i wouldn't say the same for the kitchen though...

Listening to Mogwai this afternoon....prefer the BBC sessions by a mile for the simple reason that the music is not drowned out by pretty, pretty keyboards, unlike the live Special Moves NY triple set, which I've finally concluded, almost 18 months later, that it's an album I don't really care for :( Oh, and it's great that they left in Peely's intro at the start of the BBC one.....A very, very much missed DJ.

Have you still got the beautiful looking Proacs? You're right, it is amazing how you forget how good some bands were; unfortunately it goes the other way as well but not too often:) BTW that was my last vinyl Tortoise album, the TNT one I mean.....Wonder are the others worth searching out for? I do have the dvd/cd box and I'm ashamed to say I still haven't checked it out properly! Maybe now is as good a time as any.....
