Fergus, I think it will be some time before my next St Michael's recital, but there may be a Monkstown gig in the early summer. Sweelinck probably won't feature, though, as the organ there isn't really suitable.
Would be willing to support you if it goes ahead so keep us posted Simon!

I popped into TK Maxx (sorry, I don't know whether you have these great shops in Dublin; they are clearance houses for designer label merchandise. Although they do lts of clothes, I tend to use them for kitchen and houseware) for a small flask to fit a rucksack pocket, when my eye happened to chance upon this rather remarkable book:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Classique-Cover ... 306&sr=1-2
It is beautifully presented and quite fascinating... covering (admittedly mainly European) the history and development of LP cover artwork from the mid '50's to the 1980's. I think all of you would find this a fascinating read (or look!) but I have Fergus in particular mind for this purchase... he'll be glued to it for hours.

^^ been having a good look at the book over the past hour, and I can only say it's a superb purchase. the artwork is laid out mostly chronologically, but also within themes... there are 777 carefully selected covers, which gives you a broad sweep of changing styles over time prior to an age, as we have often mentioned before, of the rise of the cult of personality...

Ah Seán....the very, very slippery slope of JS Bach and Gardiner. I hope that you enjoy it!
