Until La Risonanza or Concerto Italiano records it, this is still my favorite recording.

Where would any Christian feast day be without the relevant inspirational music from JS Bach? Currently listening to Cantatas BWV 4 & 31 for Easter Sunday....

Merulo: Missa Virginis Mariae....
I found this to be an interesting setting of the Ordinary of the Mass. As an Organ Mass the music is obviously provided exclusively by that instrument but short verses of text are sung by the choir and the sequence alternates between the two. The music is reverent and not demonstrative in style but interesting nonetheless. It was much to my liking on first listen.
