I have long enjoyed Kubelik and this set, just seen on the MDT New Release email, is worth a risk at 8.50 GBP, 9.97 EUR, or 12.95 USD. Worth the price for the Chicago Performances alone.

No clue as to the sound however, anyone familiar with this label?

Yeah, there are some real gems on Membran.

Very tasty: the modest outlay is hardly a big risk, given the very enticing list of works. The dates suggest it's all or mostly mono and the sound quality mightn't be the best, but it is Kubelík!

I was wondering if it was the same label as Membran. Thanks Seán.

The Chicago recordings were done in excellent mono, but have been the victim of some horrible remasterings over time.

anyone fancy a 3CD set of Beethoven's Complete Lieder, sung by Peter Schreier... for under £4?? Yes, funnily enough so did I...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beethoven-Liede ... ven+lieder

when I last looked a few days ago, this was £13... now there appear to be 3 retailers practically giving it away...

^^ I thought you might be a candidate, because I think you also have the 3 great Schubert song cycles with Schreier and Schiff, don't you?

that is what principally prompted me, because I like his voice.

Absolutely correct on both counts as I also like his voice Jared; coupled with the fact that the set is something of a novelty factor.

seems like decent value at £2.70 a disc...
