I'm sure you've all donated $20 to unicef, but if anyone else feels so inclined - think how good you'll feel

ah, ok. That's good. What version are you waiting on ?

the problem with this amount of detail retrieval is that even though you've not heard anything like it before, you want more, guess it's just like tuning an engine, always want a little more.

Just reading about people putting hifi tuning fuses in their nad m51s, anyone here used these for their dacs ?

I was gonna jump after Aleg, but I hesitated little bit. So, You asked me, and I would like to get avx v13 200000 to be able to play hirez on my dac, if possible, please?

Not only on DAC, I have upgraded fuse on my amps also.
If you don't want to bypass them, then I recommend getting an audiophile fuse!

I just tried the avx v13.
The v13 has less noise and sound more clean, but also more flat, comparing to avx2 v7, specially in the bass area.
My system it's very well filtered, I actually filter the soul of the musicians before I play them, so it might be that I just miss a bit of noise! ;-)

Just my two cents..........the rest I spent on my stereo!

Thanks Gordon for the concern re V7 (Corporate social responsibility) I appreciate that. Must be using the wrong control exe.

On the fuses we went through the gold plated fuses thing a few years back. I remember Fran advising his are in a drawer somewhere and not sure what devices or plugs I have mine in. But maybe they do work.

I am still searching for that perfect lump of brass that will sit on top of my cpu but the revelations on the linux thread may mean the auld zumas are used as bookends shortly.

I agree with adam that there is bit less space in v13 compared to v7.
This is playing 16-bit non-DRC. Applying DRC also changes the spatial character of the music coming from the speakers, so would like to hear DRC-ed version first before giving a preference.

Update:
Did also a quick comparison with 2.71 and DRC-ed music, and I still prefer the latter over either avx v7 and avx v13.

So I'm dying to try out a 24-bit capable avx2 v7 or v13

Cheers

OK - I should have the time this weekend to do a direct comparison between linear powered PC/W8.1/WaveIO/Buffalo running one of the latest versions of MQN and the RPi running Squeezelite direct I2S into the Buffalo.

Can someone tell me which versions of MQN files I need to make this work?

I confess I have stepped away from this approach in recent times and find there's a whole raft of new stuff, some of which doesn't seem to work on any given instruction set.

Thanks

Mark
