v10 very good indeed, better than sse2 previous versions.
v10 is really engaging, both sd and hd. The sound seems to me clean, detailed, rich and balanced.
With sd material better than my previous reference (2.73 448) on my 8.1-64 Atom system.
Thanks!

there was a problem with avx2 16 bit so have uploaded v7, was wondering why the top end was missing a bit.

also uploaded an avx v1 version, might sound better than sse2, let me know. It uses avx instructions but only has 128 bit registers instead of avx2 256.

for those having trouble starting avx2, you have to be quiet when starting it ie no sudden mouse movements.

Have big troubles to get the avx2 running again.
The v7 wouldn't start (it kills all my open command windows BTW) and after that I cannot get any of the avx2s running again. Not even after reboot and not moving the cursor on my rdp atall. ;-)

It is a bit sensitive version, this avx2

Cheers

Which control should work with avx V1?

it's doing something a bit naughty, in the name of sq, so that's why it's interfering with other exes, am thinking of ways round it. use at your own risk.

Well as long as it is not irreversible, I'm willing to experiment.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't play after reboot though as I have been listening to v6 this evening without start problems.

Edit:
The mqnplay.exe 24 bit avx v1 win8.1-r2. Is playing without issues, it is just the avx2 that is giving problems.

The command windows show it has started playback but there is no sound.
I had this yesterday as well and after some switching between versions it suddenly would come on. Not tonight however.

Cheers

I'm using it, had a couple of no starts earlier, but think it was mouse related. Haven't noticed any effect on other things on the laptop. Alot of the versions used the same technique, just avx2 must be affecting more than the orhers.

Listening to led zep 4, definitely the best sq I've had from computer audio. The fix to 16 bit avx2 has put the drive back into the music.

Triode has made a change to squeezelite to allow for local file play, so should be possible to start mqn from squeezelite with a small change, something for later.

Now that would be the best of both worlds of convenience and best SQ. Do hope that can be achieved.

Well I'll be dxxxed if I understand why, But I've got avx2 v7 running now.

I ran mqnplay.exe 24 bit avx hirez win 8.1-r2 pgo first, which gave sound
Than mqnplay.exe 24 bit avx2 v2 win 8.1-r2, which also gave sound
And now mqnplay.exe 24 bit avx2 v7 win8.1-r2 which also gives sound

Don't touch it anymore.

Sounds great however

Edit: playback from music on the OS disc doesn't start, only NAS will start and give sound.

Cheers
