me too Darren.... in fact the only multi-composer box set I own is the Eton Choirbook...
but I have to say, that does look very tempting at the price. I might just borrow some of Kalyani's.

^^ At the moment I'm quite torn on this one Jared. What this boxed does do though is remind me what a vital label Harmonia Mundi have become. They have a formidable stable of performers and their choice of repertoire is reasonably predictable, but they can always be relied on to provide interpretations that are at least different, and often revelatory...

^^^ I'd agree with all of that, Darren; they are one of my favourite labels, along with Hyperion & Chandos these days... Naive, CPO, BIS and Gimell (for obvious reasons) are not far behind...

I'm certainly fond of Hyperion, Chandos and Naive. Odd to think that when I first started collecting my shelves were absolutely dominated by DG, Decca, EMI an Philips!!

I suffered from an early surfeit of the yellow label, but find I rarely buy any DG these days...
I will say however that I do find many of the Philips twofers (esp in chamber music) indispensible, and continue to buy the odd one or two...
this new purchase being a case in point...

Oddly enough I quite independently added that Duo set to my Amazon basket five minutes before seeing your post

actually, I might have to revise the above; I bought the Wilhelm Kempff: Schubert Piano Sonatas, Mozart SQs by the Hagans and Brahms Lieder by Jessye Noorman, all within the last few months, and they are all on DG!!

^^ Oh I don't think I could ever abandon DG (at least not the vintage recordings - I'm not convinced by their current roster of stars). Without DG I'd have a lot less Abbado, Boulez, Kempff, Giulini, Karajan, Pollini, Sinopoli, Mutter, Bohm, Fischer-Dieskau, Jochum, Amadeus Qt., Gardiner etc. Perish the thought!

^^ once again, I agree completely. Ironically, the only 'new' DG recordings I tend to buy are their Opera Blu Rays with Anna Netrebko... ;-)
