Is there any point trying coding ourselves?
I'm pretty sure I have some of the STM Discovery kits (I bought them a long while ago) & I can send them onto anyone who is keen to investigate?

I think, it's this one I have but I'll check - STM32F0DISCOVERY

The good thing about these boards is that there is lots of code & apps already done for them - I have linked to some of the more interesting/relevant code in this document on my google drive Flashair folder

I'm hoping to have a go with the existing board and arduino to see ow it goes. Think I can get an ESP8266 working with it from looking at the code etc.

Hope to get looking at it over the weekend, but it looks doable. I have a very rough block diagram worked out, but it will take some coding and testing to see how it goes.

Basic idea is to get the ESP to see what the STMF04 chip sees and then replicate the button presses. If that works, then move on to wifi transfer through the ESP to the SD card. That would allow us to use the SD player boards with some mods, and SLC cards and not have to worry about wifi adaptors etc.

This is interesting, Fran - any details or anything we can help with?

ill put my hat in the ring for that too

if the esp can read and write to a slc card that more ideal than flashair id guess
assuming that the sd card player cant be reading at the same time as esp?
if the signal to the lcd screen can be read to be shown on an app/webbrowser would be good to

My programmer here can make an android app, but hasn't got HTML. So we might need a bit of help to be able to run this from a browser. But we have a few hurdles to cross yet.....

Is it something you've decided is too much work?
What sort of time would it take
if one knew what they were doing?
Have to say I'd be more comfortable throwing a few quid at a good local student programmer in instalments per milestone using a dev board?

Speaking of Arduino, just wondering if there were any feasible ways to give our SLC cards a boost by feeding both power and clock separately?

Pearse was giving that a shot with USB card readers but that particular route seemed to be quite a challenge, hopefully things could get easier with a breakout board or something else
