Listened to the recording in my office for the first time today and I am very impressed with the quality of the performance and the overall musicality. The quintet is superb as is the clarinet concerto which you recommended. The performance style combines original instruments with a somewhat romantic interpretation, less rigid and more flowing than the also superb freiburger recording, listened to earlier.
Thoroughly enjoyable and strongly recommended.

Thank you for that Mark. I see that you have already discovered and liked the clarinet quintet which was going to be my next recommendation. You might try the Oboe Quartet also and it is coupled with the clarinet quintet on this lovely CD....

Seán: I know that you liked Vengerovs playing on the Dvorak Violin Concerto. Vengerov's playing and virtuosity on the two somewhat contrasting but absolutely wonderful works on this CD are stunning and mesmerizing and this disc would be a strong recommendation.

If you asks me, the greatest recording of both works.

I did not know that there were two versions of it Seán. I have my CD for some time now so it is probably the original version; it is exactly as shown in the post above. It is a really good CD Seán!
