Re: Director's Cut...
Got it today. Just finished first listen. Really good IMHO. We really do benefit from hindsight here.

Re: Director's Cut...
anyone else got this yet? I see a few vinyl copies for sale in the likes of Tower, Freebird, Celtic Note etc. The vinyl is selling for around the 27Euro mark. Almost took the plunge today but held off until I get a few more opinions/reviews.

Re: Director's Cut...
I have it Dave but as with all the other Kate Bush albums with the exception of Hounds of Love and Aerial it's put aside for a rainy day. I gave it a cursory listen and while it it sounded ok but not outstanding, the feeling of comparing the new tracks with the old kept getting in the way and subsequently I couldn't enjoy the album properly!! The same happened with the Beatles Love album... I'd buy it anyway and er, keep it for a rainy day ;-) It does come with a rather extravagant 12x12 book for those who like that sort of thing....DaveF wrote:anyone else got this yet? Re: Director's Cut...
I've had it around for a while but only gave it a listen last night. Hated it. Utter dirge. Self important, delusional nonsense. Some artists should never print the lyrics on the inner sleeve, it only exposes how vacuous they actually are. I could only ever take Kate Bush in small doses but this just screams "cash in" to me.
Vinyl -anything else is data storage.

Re: Director's Cut...
Funny you should say that Ivor! I started to play the opening track last night and I took it off half way through!! It was bloody awful - a slowed down dirge that led me to believe that my tt was actually running slow. I tell you I felt a bit guilty but not now :-) As regards the lyrics, oh dear!!! Still I do remember some of the other tracks being half decent but I'm not really bothered to find out to tell the truth....She used to be cutting edge but sadly no more. Finally, I cannot understand all the positive reviews surrounding this album??Ivor wrote:I've had it around for a while but only gave it a listen last night. Hated it. Utter dirge.
