Looks like you had some nice bottles there Ivor, how did you find the Chateau Pelan?

I got a chance to try this one, not bad at all, around the 22E mark

It was just there on the shelf. Boom Boom.

It was lovely. Well balanced and still full-on. It got better 'in the glass' so I'm guerssing it should have been decanted.

I'm letting this 2007 Barbera d'Alba breath for a good few seconds at the moment.

Hugh Johnson's Wine Guide gives the vineyard a **-*** rating.

18.99 at the local offie.

I'll be enjoying it with Springbok and Oscar Peterson.
I'm a happy camper!

Great legs, 14%!
Full Bodied, big start and a long refreshing finish.
I prefer a well sorted Barbera D'alba to a Barolo if I'm honest though!

The tasting notes from the producer are spot on;

The Barbera grapes grown in the Barolo area, give full
structure, plummy and complex flavour, with spicy and ripe
fruit, blackberry aroma and a hint of toasted tobacco.

Barbera and springbok, an excellent combination.

Does anyone have a pairing for Ostrich? A rough auld Cinsaut from South Africa or a Puglian Ostuni perhaps?
