Tony, have Live at Art Lugoff's and waltz for debby, both vgood. 2L and Linn/naim have good sample hirez tracks.

dj, not able to play 24/96, maybe it's not capable, can check using wasapi_test, plays ok for me.
V3 and v3 alternate do play 44.1/16, but don't play 24-bit in any resolution.

Because my music is DRC-ed into 24-bits for my main system, none of the music would play.

Grabbed a true 44.1/16 from one of my archives, and that would play but I can't listen to any of my DRC-ed music.

Cheers

With Squeezelite I can play 24/96 tracks. Dac=Teac UD-H01.
Listening now to 24/44, wonderful![/quote]

Aleg we have similar interface and drivers, I'm surpised that you can't play 16/44!

Just noticed I can play 44.1/16, but because my music is DRC-ed into 24 -bits, I actually don't have any 16-bits music at hand. Only in my archives I still have 16-bits files.
I took one from there and that would play, so the issue is just with 24-bit music.

I just remembered about DRC when I saw you post above. ;-)

that doesn't mean that it will play 24/96 via wasapi

maybe it's the buffer size it doesn't like, too small. Seems I'll need to make a version with larger buffer sizes see if that works.

the other thing is that it requires mmcss to be running, for those that can't get anything to run.

are you sure you need 24 bit containers ? previous versions played hirez in 32 bit containers.

MMCSS is running and it is just the 24-bit files that won't run.

Dug up some 16-bit tracks, just to be able to listen to this version.
Sounds quite good I must say, details appear to be present (like to do some a-b-ing with my drc-ed versions) and good transparancy in the sound though I'm only listening to solo instruments now.

I had 24 bit test versions of MQn, did you ever try those and did they work ?

Gordon,
If I'm correct we went through this discussion when you introduced 2.72 and 2.73 versions. My DAC has limits with buffer size. I think 20ms would make it work, 10ms definitely didn't work.
