I almost forgot!!! At nine am this morning back in '69 and running way behind schedule this man and his merry band took the stage in front of a much depleted crowd; Weren't they fortunate to have stayed on to witness one of the watershed moments in all of Rock? It only lasted three minutes or thereabouts - The Star Spangled Banner.....

Thanks Fran you've made my weekend :-))))) To tell the truth that's one of his very finest releases! It even has stuff from the fabled Albert Hall gig with superior sound to any other vinyl release!! Are You Experienced is amazing as is Bleeding Heart and a good few others too :-)

BTW I contacted Diverse Vinyl about the imminent vinyl release of "Notes From San Fransisco" and they told me that they haven't seen it listed anywhere yet....so it's a case of watch this space!

I bought it about 1990 in HMV - it still has the little HMV "import" sticker on it. I love it to bits too, "I don't live today" is a stand out track for me....

BTW if you ever see this copy on vinyl snap it up! It's a digital remastering job from Castle Communication and it's actually a superior copy to the original!! Much louder with fantastic presence...I came across it completely by accident when I went looking for a copy for a friend;however when I compared it to my own version I got myself another copy ;-)
Castle also did a fabulous job on a Fleetwood Wood Mac Blues vinyl five album box set and comes very highly recommended too!

No mine is from "media motion", not castle. I do have a fleetwood mac compilation from castle, but the tape is pretty much knackered at this stage.

Media Motion on the CBS label? Yes, that's the other original copy I have. As for Fleetwood Mac see pic below; that's the one to go for if you see it, on vinyl, I mean.....I spotted a copy on Discogs but he was looking for £150 plus for it! On ebay there's a guy selling the CD version for pittance - €13.00, I think.....

This really takes me back! I remember thinking to my untrained ears that Genesis had suddenly become much more polished and professional sounding especially with Peter's vocals....as for the amazing Firth of Fifth and Hackett's wonderful guitar sound. Wow! I genuinely thought that the sound he got was because of he was using, according to the sleeve notes , a nylon stringed guitar!!! I had never heard of such a thing at the time :-)

Gatefold vinyl copy with lyrics! To this day I still haven't come across a copy like mine!
