Oh & there's the monster emerging from the chest cavity, all bloody & gory!
Wow, that current draw is a shocker, no wonder a clean supply makes a difference - does the current draw fluctuate? There are probably very fast transient currents on this PS.
Could you hazard a guess at what level of % SQ improvement this tweak is giving you - you seemed to be pretty definite in your registering of improvement so I guess it's not one of those "I'll need to give this more time" type of improvements?

BTW, Nige, great work in following through with this mod - it frightened me off too - fearing that I would destroy a mobo but I always wondered what it's sonic effect would be as it seemed to be the last PS area to tackle?

Dunno exactly I booted it up the first time with a pico
Made A right difference so I knew it was worth pursuing hooked up all the batteries then and still was an improvement
It's accumulative
But I consider it up there with o's supply and day supply
Of course needs further testing but no mistake improvement is definet
Wonder if all the clock replacement pang does is worth while

Looking forward to hearing this at a meet up. I wonder is that why you and others have reported noticeable changes when coating ram with the 3m paper? i.e the power draw on the ram. It is hard to believe Nigel a year ago it was an Arcam rdac and in the early zuma days just one maplin!

Yea, a year well spent & learned a lot in the process - the way forward seems a bit clearer but still hazy.

thought someone might be interested.... weather affects SQ?

---TWEAK 46----
in bios, you can choose
CPU Power Duty Control: T.probe or extreme

i discover this setting is weather dependent.
if weather is cold and dry like Great Britain, try T.probe.

if weather is high humidity, try extreme.

very very interesting...

best SQ comes from T.probe.
worst SQ also comes from T.probe if weather is 'bad'. lol ....
