I've had them both for quite a while now Dermot. The SRV/King is a great album, pity its a bit short. The packaging though was a bit crap. Thin cardbord and a paper inner sleeve and they shrinkwrapped the hell out of it. At least the pressing itself is just fine.
Thats the only G Dead that I have on Lp so I cant compare it to the ones you have. Worth the purchase in my opinion. It tends to be in Tower every so often.

Got that one from Spindizzy a good while ago. Actually I popped into Borderline yesterday evening. The alternative 'Are you experienced' is now available for 20Euro if I remember correctly but I left it. Some chap asked them what happened to the place but the guy wasnt very talkative at all. He seemed more interested in leaning against the door having a smoke.

You were right not to get the alternative 'Are You Experienced' as, I'm sure you know, it's a bootleg. Hope yer man enjoyed his smoke ;-)

A fabulous album which still sounds so fresh. I'm sure I mentioned this before but this album was a pivotal point for me in my teenage years. I heard this album after being immersed in the progressive rock sounds of Yes and ELP, but this was something different. It took me a few listens to assimilate the complexities of (especially) the title track but the effort was rewarded many times over when I moved on to the even denser music of Henry Cow. You really learn so much by working through the apparent difficulty of music like this. So many new doors in music open up whilst your understanding of old favourites is replenished anew.

It's worth mentioning as well that Larks' Tongues is such a well-balanced album. Immediately following on from Larks' Tongues Pt.1, you have the lyrical sweetness of Book of Saturday and Exiles, the martial groove of Easy Money, the inexorable polyrhythms of The Talking Drum, before finishing with the searingly intense Larks' Tongues Pt.2 (the overwhelming power of which would put many a metal band to shame). Worth mentioning as well are John Wetton's fine vocals which were as integral to this Crimson line-up as Greg Lake's were in this band's first incarnation.
