We can only act on what we can see and all the moderators can see so far is someone asking a question. You may know him, we, by and large, don't. As soon as we see evidence of trolling etc we will act.

I believe the "vote" option above is to put the guy on your ignore list. A simple solution.

I would suggest something better.
Let's stop right here, until we hear from Fran. Until then, Gordon you can contact all the people who actively cooperate by PM and we can carry on in silence.
I am out of here...

Ah damn it Julf done it again

id usually be one for giving second chances or a clean slate
as people can get hot headed and get banned for been out of character on one occasion
Julfs more cold and calculated in his destruction to avoid such ban opportunities for Mods

Julfs troublemaking skills are well known in CA threads

most of the problem is the Classic Julf trademark
the uncanny ability to cause damage while remaining outside the boundaries for a ban

definitely truly gifted, pity the talent isn't used for good instead of evil

this is no ordinary customer
was hoping for the Dirty Harry approach and be gone faster than a spam robot

going on my ignore list for now

nothing good ever comes from his presence

You can read from the discrepancy between his tone and supposedly innocent behaviour and the content of his messages that he is up to no good.
The least I can do, and already did, is to put him on my foe-list.

I would suggest everybody who doesn't want to be bothered by his trolling messages to put him on their foe-list.
That way we can continue our discussions and sharing of experiences without being bothered by his presence.

Cheers

the Mods will take all of that on board Nige. Even a whiff of trolling and he's gone. But so far it's harmless and can easily be ignored.

Ivor,

what he has already done is not harmless, esp. for those who have experience with his devious ways.
He is and will be getting under people's skin without you recognizing he is doing so.

IMHO you already don't recognise what he is doing.

Therefore my call to all: put him on your foe list so you don't have to read his messages.

Cheers

You're absolutely 100% correct, he's using the history he has with you guys from elsewhere to annoy you BUT his questions on the forums here are innocuous on the face of it. If anyone has had abusive messages sent to them via the Forums then tat's different. Ignore him, guys like that need an audience. At some stage later this evening the mods will have a discussion on the subject.

Moderators, please do not think as Chamberlain

You are bring told what will happen with this character and you find all kinds of kindly excuses to let it continue.

All the while the gist of this forum has said he will no longer participate as long as this continues.

This is a case of liberality of spirit being manipulated by the clever into the destruction of something the participants of this forum find useful and informative.

Do not make the mistake of calling the wrong side the bullies.

Appeasement does not work and ends up making the "peacemakers" look very foolish.

Ivor we all moved here from CA because of Julf's arrogance.

It is not just this site and CA. He has done his style on DIYAudio forums and Audiocircle. This guy will offer nothing good here.
