These were wonderful performances!
glad you enjoyed the performances Fergus. Do let us know what u think of the Scottish and Italian symphonies. These ones here surpass the HvK versions imho.
Will do Dave....the cycle has certainly started with a high standard!

JSB – English Suites Nos. 4-6 [Leonhardt]....

I like Leonhardt’s playing; I think that he always puts the music first.

Lovely melodies beautifully sung with wonderful and interesting vocal harmonies and textures.

Mozart – Exsultate Jubilate & Motets....

I think that this is wonderful music. I love the way the uniquely Mozartian themes busily play away in the background as a counterpoint to the wonderful vocal score. I also love listening to Emma Kirkby singing.

Listened to the 9th. A very impressive performance. I dug out the Kubelik version afterwards and I think I prefer the Kertesz. Makes me wonder if I made the wrong choice a good while back in choosing the Kubelik over the Kertesz boxset not that the former is bad, far from it. Does anyone here have the Kertesz set?

I don't Dave but it is on my Wish List as I think that it would be interesting to have both sets.
