Mendelssohn – Violin Concerto....
I have always liked this work.

Shostakovich – String Quartets Nos. 14 & 15....
I have now concluded listening again to this magnificent cycle with the final two works. A particular highlight of these two quartets was the Elegy of quartet no. 15 which is a stunningly beautiful section of this powerful work.

Beethoven – Symphony No. 9 Klemperer....
I thought that this was quite a fine performance with a lighter touch than I had anticipated.

Berlioz – Symphonie fantastique [Beecham]....
I found this to be a performance full of drama and atmosphere which was very well performed. I also really enjoyed one of the fillers, Royal Hunt and Storm from Les Troyens, a work that I have not yet heard in full!
