I was curious because I have the Tchaikovsly Symphonies which are indispensable for me and I also have a number of Sibelius Symphonies which I also like with both of those forces. It just strikes me as I am writing this that both the Tchaikovsky and the Sibelius would probably be closer culturally and perhaps the Dvorak is not Slavic enough?

This is my choice as this year's stocking filler; spread the gospel I say: give the gift of music. This is a lovely, readily available and affordable introduction to the beauty of Haydn's music. I love it.
