Interesting comments Fergus, you obviously enjoyed listening to Dvorak's gorgeous 'New World Symphony'. Do you have a favourite recording?
I can name my favourite New World: Ferenc Fricsay with the Belin Philharmonic in DG.

I have a number of works conducted by Fricsay and he is good, no doubt, but I am just a little surprised that you have not come across a more modern version that you might prefer? It must be very good if noboby has surpassed it!

Four short but suitably joyous and beautiful works. The singing is outstanding, particularly the soprano line.
