Hey JC - does nogr work for you on Server 2012 R2?
nogr is no sound. no skip. no error/exception. just stuck.
Thanks JC - does nogr work on any O.Ss for you?

i see v2.98.12 256 SHR have good elements, like its thinness, mellow. sound expand to full air/space. now difficult make compiling for this quality.
of course this version have defect: weighty. this weight a bit reduces clarity and sound has become little muddy. reason: much resolution. unfortunatelly...

sop maybe best piano ever.

the more carefully i listen, the more pianist skills i pick up

sop can reproduce this beautifully:
acceleration illusion = constant speed notes + weight manipulation

ok... ctlx is on strike again. wtf...

don't forget about 2.97.7 mb!
great bass great quantity.
musical notes are simple in presentation.
reproduce great Metallica.

full vibration. has natural ease. feels like s4

(2.98x is sophisticated in comparison)

sorry, misread... SHR!

current best for playing Barbra Streisand. has best ease of 2.98x
muddy a little bit. doesn't matter. emotion is there in full

lekt, try try mqn7.16 + portaudio v37 + latest mqncontrol. very musical. only lacks bass focus.

its treble is fuller in quantity reminds me of win7 treble (without the win7 digital tonality).
therefore, its vocal is not typical of win8.

this software "Ex7ForW8" will "inject" win7 treble to lekt player and all software

Image

very interesting... i very much like it... until i realize it has a win7 digital tonality layer. SHAME... might try again later.

it also makes win8 bass sounds like win7 bass... haha... i hate that bass....

OK, will try, that's i need win95 GUI, hehe,... if it can be then very good for my compiling work.
mqn don't work for my laptop, only old version and few new versions work, but crackl/pops. portaudio, KS can not work with onboard sound card.

uploaded:
lekt.exe v2.98.14 160 ctlx1
lekt.exe v2.98.14 160 ctlx5
lekt.exe v2.98.14 160 ctlx5 c2

tried use new setting for wasapi objects other than v2.98.12.xx, don't know work for you or not. used only simple code for copy function for render loop for testing. with this raw copy function sound only raw in some previous versions. but in v2.98.14 sound good, vibration not bad vs v2.98.12xx. sound stage better, balance is best. i see big potential for them. prefer ctlx1. try them.

------------------------------
bass much better, very correct stage.

can feel more vibration here
ctlx1 > ctlx5 c2
ctlx5 > ctlx5 c2
ctlx1 > ctlx5

ctlx1 weight is more spread out.
cltx5 weight is sharp

---
can hear echo in vocal! ghost...

---
2.98.14 is picking up weak sound signals in the air.
feels more live and real. little bit analog dirty. (not digital dirty)

---
love this sound! very very analog sound.

when i was kid, computer didn't exist back then, my piano teacher played me tapes or whatever, it sounded like this!
little bit dirty. no hifi effects. nothing beautiful. nothing impressive. plain music.
i used to hate it. boring. now i love this sound.
very accurate piano notes. new best.

there's testing wasapi setting parameters. i let them raw sound with simple render loop code (with buffer size other than 2^n very difficult use tricks of binary numbers, will do this later for improving vibration).
though used very interesting counter, better than counter by shift operator.

in my case works 8 wasapi setting values. but setting from ctlx1 seems best: more vibration, sound stage like as "mini" but dinamic range and depth ~full, non-3D sound, only balance lesser than ctlx5. will re-write render loop code.

--------------------
software "Ex7ForW8": can it make win8 GUI => win7 classic GUI, no aero themes? coz win8 GUI "easier" than win7, it's flat art disign.

Ex7ForW8 copies win7 explorer.exe, wraps it and uses it in win8

explorer.exe affects sound A LOT... badly, i would say
all software sounds like win7 hahaha... win7 bass...

tempo = (win7+win8)/2... because win7 has stronger treble
