tested MQNsqueeze vs mqn and its very very good, just not as good as mqn (resolution and wow factor as aleg says)
beats the crap out of Daphile though
and not bad for a couple of days mqn development
is there much more that can be done?
making it 64 bit, profile guided optimisation, apply same changes to squeezelite etc depends how far you want to take it. did you try the -a 1 -b 2000:2000 settings ? that lifts it a bit

Rome wasn't built in a day
Neither was mqn 2.7x

Gave it a good test I'm sure its not just as good
Yes I tried the buffer setting
Is their a tighter one I could try

I see it uses vs 2010
And doesn't work with 2013 without 2010

Does that leave it at a disadvantage

portaudio is compiled with 2013, what do you mean it needs 2010 ?

could offload to mqn ks if >= 16/44.1

what do you mean tighter ?

I'm giving up. It's too complicated for me. LMS sometimes works great sometimes not at all.

I wouldn't...It is not that hard once you get familiar with it.
MQn was more complicated, I would say, but we learnt how to use it.
You may have issue with additional parameters, -a 1 -b 2000:2000 , if you tried them. Leave it empty for now.
I am just guessing trying to help you.

John

Try to uninstall all of LMS and make a new install.

I had to do it also once this afternoon. Because I'm not familiar with LMS I had been too brusque in changing settings and canceling library scans etc and at one point LMS would not play anything anymore.

Because I had a little bit accustomed to how the settings worked, I reinstalled it and handled it a bit more carefully and it played just fine after that.
I set it up first with the original portaudio and made sure it played all engines I wanted in the most compatible of Server modes and than gradually reduced the mode to a more lean one and changed to Gordon's modded version.

So maybe another go?

Cheers
Aleg

tried deleting 2010 and installing 2013 wouldnt work said was missing xxxxx.dll
not sure didn't spend much time at it

meant by lower latency and buffer setting further?

offload to ks? what do you mean
its definitely not as good as 16/44.1 but surely that doesn't mean it cant be better

why is all bitrates and frequencies working with the ciunas?

was that using opt4 version, thought that resolved the missing dll issue

lowest latency is 1, think it is 1ms

meant if stream is lower quality than 16/44 then stream it else use mqn with ks

all rates are working because it's using portaudio and not mqn

am assuming that ks is better than wasapi, you can change the output device to wasapi and compare

if you compare squeezelite wasapi with mqn then that should indicate what's possible with further development

Couldnt get wasapi going earlier
will try again and compare
is a restart required before switching
