I have strongly recommended this version of Nielsen 6 in my recent thread on the subject and I see that it is selling for £0.01 on Amazon UK at the moment which is indeed a very good bargain.

here are a few bargains from HM, whose high quality suggests they should be lieing in the bargain basket by the door:

Byrd: Masses for 3,4,5 Voices (a version of which should be in everyone's collection):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Masses-Voices-H ... 45&sr=1-21

Forget this ridiculous review... if you're up for another Mahler: DKW, then the Connolly/ Herreweghe combination is a tempting one:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mahler-Wunderho ... 91&sr=1-29

Some Bach Harpsichord Concertos by Leonhardt are always tempting...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bach-Concertos- ... 87&sr=1-51

and finally a version of Berlioz' Les Nuits d'ete which has generally recevied good reviews:

Thanks Jared, I am sorely tempted to get a copy of the Connolly & Herreweghe Mahler recording.

I ordered the Byrd. It's a gap in my collection.

I'm sure a man of your calibre will be familiar with these Masses, but my feeling is that even if someone wasn't into Renaissance music per se and only wanted to own one disk of Byrd's music, then these works (and perhaps Infelix Ego) would be them, Imho... and btw thanks for purchasing.. it kind of makes it worth my while looking them up!

Yes. They were selling it for £188.99 until they sorted that out :)

Tch! People were being swindled for years as the many quaverless reissues followed one another! Decca's first CD offering was
awful! Worse, they priced each set proportionate to the cost of the LP sets. So as Götterdämmerung was on 6 LPs, people paid the price for 6CDs even though the set comprised just 4. Just a weird pricing quirk. You'd be all right with Das Rheingold. But the sound was pretty bad too, given the 1997 remasterings which are claimed to be a lot better.

Has anyone auditioned this latest set?
