The Jean Pierre Leloir collection compiles some of the best jazz albums ever in limited edition LPs and CDs, showcasing candid and rarely seen photos taken by Leloir of some of the perennial names of the genre. These are beautifully repackaged standards from, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Nina Simone, Bill Evans etc etc.
FNAC are retailing them at 10 Euro each, 180 gram vinyl with gatefold sleeves. I picked up five of them through mate in France, they sound fine, nothing special, probably digitally sourced, but they are beautiful artifacts and definitely worth collecting

I'm sure enjoying the Duke tremendously lately - recommendations are welcome.

Stan Kenton.
In the 70's and 80's I traveled with cassette and Walkman and listened a lot to Gil Evans and Duke Ellington and Count Basie and Michel Legrand Jazz Orchestra stuff. Undeniably marvellous throughout. But nobody told me back then about Stan Kenton. I actually got him in USA.
A lot of 2016 listening was influenced by hisrecords and hid band members. So good.
Just saying.
Happy Christmas and Peace I hope
Up music :)
