I used to have an old compilation of Wishbone Ash hits on cassette a long long time ago but offen wondered what album would be a good starting point? Any pointers Fergus?

It is a very good album Dave....I always liked it. It has that definite Wishbone Ash sound to it....bluesy rock with twin lead guitar.

Seconded but you can't go wrong with the first three albums really.... Funnily enough I can always hear a distant English Folk influence. It's hard to put it in words but it's definitely there and it is what, in my opinion, distinguishes this wonderful band from any other. The twin lead sound they got was magnificent too....To this day I miss Ted Turner's gorgeous lead work, which has never been surpassed, let alone copied....

I have a new valve phono stage on its first run tonight. Lovely sound, vintage partridge step up transformers working balanced into some russian 6N2P and 6N8P. Very happy so far....
