^^ That Berlioz yield looks enticing Jared. I have that Abbado disc and recently pushed the boat out on the Gardiner Damnation. Much to enjoy there I think!

it will all have to wait its turn, but I'm looking forward to a bit of bombast in due course.. probably sandwiched between some more Renaissance Music.

^^ I am living a hand to mouth existence at the moment I assure you Fergus ;-)

I have actually got some extra contracted hours at work, so things are looking a fraction more buoyant financially (economies will still be made though...)

Fairs fair, Fergus... I think they were actually the first purchases I have made this year... which is remarkably restrained of me!

Oh that's good enough reason to buy it.
Stravinsky has been vetoed at home for now...
Veronica, HATES Stravinsky, it really irritates her, she and doesn't get instrumental Bach either she finds it tiring after a short spell, however she really likes his sacred music. She LOVES Mahler's Symphones particularly his Third and Mozart's Pianio Sonatas. Why am I telling you all this? Try it on the wife and your beautiful child too.
Haha,

My wife and I laughed this morning when I read that. It is the same for her. In the first few months of our relationship we saw Petrushka in concert and she said that she did not like it. She thought that it was only Bing! Bang! Bing! I laugh at that story now but I remember that it got me thinking at the time :) .

My wife said that Veronica has great taste.

Matt.

This is the final instalment in my Sakari Sibelius cycle....thanks to Darren for persisting with the recommendations.
A great choice indeed Fergus. One of the finest Naxos recording in my opinion.

Matt.

We will discuss it further in due course my friend. I am very please that someone chose a Sibelius Symphony to discuss....any one of them would have done me!
