Still won't play.
Went to the R1 looked in task manager and it shows both mqncontrol &mqnplay in background processes. The taskmanager in R2 only shows the mqncontrol in the background processes.
Does anyone have any ideas on this?
Thank you,
Mark

Latest working version is 2.71 intel v2 on my Win7. Tested W8.1 on virtual machine and there's the same issue. Hope on real machine all will be fine.
Will test it in two days.

Did you configure your sound device?
Did you start windows audio service? First time I have to start it manually or are informed by windows it will do so, but it's not running by default on Server 2012.

Windows audio service is set to automatic and working fine. I can run 2.71 intel v2 and previous versions (and any other audio soft) but all of the new versions just crashes.
EDIT: don't know why but now there is only one version not working "448"
Here's ProcessMonitor log for 448:

EDIT2: Now ALL is working fine! Didn't notice mqncontrol.exe 2.71 448 10.7144810 for 448.
Now I'm not afraid to install W8 on real thing.

think the 10ms 448 version sounds better, but a bit thinner than I like so am looking again at the assembly version of the memcopy function, so things are in limbo at the moment. Shall tidy the drive up later.

I can't agree that the 448 is any thinner that the other 2.71's. Maybe just a bit less bass, but it's more relaxed and less harshness. Very pleasant in the long listening.

I only get lots of static noise interspersed with music with 448. All others work fine.
Can it be my DAC? (JDS Labs ODAC)
Thank you!

Gordon,
In combination with my WaveIO DDC both 448 versions don't play sound.
